The wait is almost over. Apple’s first live immersive Major League Baseball game begins August 28 at 7 p.m. Eastern, when the Boston Red Sox visit the New York Yankees.

Vision Pro owners will be able to look around Yankee Stadium as the rivalry unfolds, seeing each at-bat, celebrations in the dugouts, and close plays at the outfield wall.

A new view from Yankee Stadium

Apple says the game will stream in 3D at 8K with a 180-degree view. Instead of keeping the field inside a flat frame, the broadcast is designed to place the scale and sound of the ballpark around the viewer.

Team lineups and live stats will float in the viewer’s space. A dedicated commentary team will call the game, while microphones around the stadium bring the crowd and field into Spatial Audio. The immersive broadcast will stay inside Yankee Stadium during breaks in play.

How to watch

The game will stream live in the Apple TV app on M2 and M5 Vision Pro for viewers with an active Apple TV subscription. It will be available in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Apple will also offer a full replay and a highlights package on demand, so Vision Pro owners can return to the immersive broadcast after the live game ends.

Red Sox–Yankees opens a four-game Apple Immersive schedule that continues each Friday through September 18. The first pitch is almost here.

The games coming next

  • September 4 — Los Angeles Angels at Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:30 p.m. ET
  • September 11 — San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants, 10 p.m. ET
  • September 18 — San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers, 10 p.m. ET

Spatial Insider will be watching live. We’ll share what it feels like to follow a full game with the ballpark around us in the Spatial Insider newsletter (opens in a new tab) after the final out.
