Your old home videos have a new place to play. Cassette (opens in a new tab), a retro VHS-style video player, is now available on Apple Vision Pro.

On Vision Pro, you can sit in a virtual living room with wood-paneled walls, shelves of tapes, and a little retro TV. It feels like a home for home videos.

Developer Devin Davies announced the launch (opens in a new tab) on October 9. Cassette pulls in clips from Photos, groups them by year and album, and plays through them automatically.

It’s easy to get sentimental sitting in that room and watching old family memories. The cozy setting gives you a reason to slow down and enjoy videos you might otherwise scroll past.

Cassette is now Recommended in our app library (opens in a new tab). It is free to download, with ColorPlus purchases available in the app, and requires visionOS 26 or later.
