Fovii Brings Immersive Films and Their Creators Closer on Vision Pro

Fovii brings a curated library of Apple Immersive Video together with cast and crew profiles. Viewers can move from a finished film to the filmmakers, camera teams, and other people who helped create it.

That gives it an IMDb-like layer of discovery built around immersive cinema. The official teaser shows film pages, creator profiles, and behind-the-scenes galleries alongside the viewing controls.

Apple Immersive Video (opens in a new tab) combines high-resolution stereoscopic imagery with a wide field of view and Spatial Audio. On Vision Pro, that means scenes with lifelike depth and scale, with sound positioned around the viewer.

Behind the scenes

The spatial galleries include photos and videos from the productions, showing camera rigs, crews at work, and the decisions involved in filming a scene that surrounds the viewer.

Fovii supports native spatial photos and videos captured on iPhone, as well as production photographs presented spatially. The galleries add a way to explore how each experience was made after watching it.

The team

Founder John Racine’s work spans IMAX productions at MacGillivray Freeman Films, live immersive experiences at NextVR, and Apple Immersive Video following Apple’s acquisition of NextVR. He later became Creative & Technical Director at Rogue Labs.

Racine built Fovii with Krishna Jagadish of Chaarana Labs, the creator of Immersive India. Their work brings immersive filmmaking and visionOS development into the same project.

Launch details

Fovii is free to download and requires visionOS 26 or later. Its public App Store release was September 4, ahead of today’s announcement.

Fovii’s launch offering includes free films, seven-day streaming rentals, purchases with offline access, and a $9.99 monthly subscription. Behind-the-scenes galleries are included with the associated film access. Prices and availability can vary by title and region.

Racine aims to grow the catalog toward two new Apple Immersive Video experiences a month. Creators can submit films for review through Fovii’s website.
