HTC’s VIVE Eagle AI Glasses Go on Sale in the US

HTC’s smart glasses combine hands-free 3K video, live translation, and AI notes, with European, UK, and Australian shipments following this month.

After launching in Taiwan last year, HTC’s VIVE Eagle AI glasses are now available in the United States (opens in a new tab). The expansion brings HTC’s camera-equipped glasses to more buyers, with prices starting at $499.

Hardware

Eagle comes in square and rounded Pantos frames, starting at 48.5 grams. A 12-megapixel camera captures photos and vertical video at up to 3K, while open-ear speakers handle music, calls, and AI replies.

A visible light signals when the camera is capturing. HTC says the camera is disabled when the glasses are removed or the light is covered. The frames carry IP54 dust-and-splash resistance, and HTC rates continuous music playback at about 4.5 hours.

Software

Eagle’s AI tools can translate signs and conversations, save information for later recall, and turn spoken discussions into transcripts and summaries. HTC supports AI services powered by Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT, with availability varying by region and device compatibility.

Each purchase includes 24 months of VIVE AI Plus. HTC says full access to its AI features requires the premium Pro subscription. The glasses also need the VIVE Connect companion app, which supports Android 10 or later and iOS 17.6 or later.

Launch Details

US buyers can order through VIVE’s store, with square and Pantos styles and clear or sun lens options.

The UK and Europe follow on September 21, starting at £429 and €469, according to T3 (opens in a new tab). Australian preorders (opens in a new tab) start at AU$799, with shipments scheduled to begin September 14.
