Red Bull’s Big Wave Surfing Is a Must-Watch on Apple Vision Pro

Red Bull’s eight-minute Apple Immersive film takes you above and below Tahiti’s massive waves, with crystal-clear underwater slow motion and incredible cinematography.

Red Bull’s Big Wave Surfing on Apple Vision Pro is one of my favorite Apple Immersive films yet. I had early access to the roughly eight-minute episode, filmed at Teahupoʻo, Tahiti.

The location is beautiful, the waves are massive, and it feels like you’re riding above and below them. Many shots fill a 180-degree field of view, while others bring the framing in a little tighter. The cinematography is incredible, especially the underwater slow motion with its crystal-clear detail.

The shots are incredible throughout, but there’s one around the two-minute mark that blew me away. You’ll have to see it.

How to watch

Open the Apple TV app on Apple Vision Pro and search for World of Red Bull (opens in a new tab). Select Big Wave Surfing, the second episode. The app says it will be available Friday, October 2. I’d also check Thursday evening, October 1, Pacific time, in case playback opens the night before, as has happened with other videos.
