URSee Turns Apple Vision Pro Into a Live Immersive Camera Monitor

The visionOS app places a Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive feed inside a calibrated 3D dome, using direct wired capture or network streams from a Mac.

URSee is a new Apple Vision Pro app that lets immersive film crews view a live camera feed inside the headset while a shot is being framed or recorded.

Developer Matthew Fisher released URSee 1.0 (opens in a new tab) on August 18. The app is designed for directors, cinematographers, and crews working with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera.

The Live Feed Wraps Around the Viewer

Instead of placing the camera's wide stereo image on a flat monitor, URSee maps the two views onto a 3D dome. A viewer can turn to inspect the edges of the 180-degree frame and check whether lights, crew, or equipment have entered the shot.

URSee can load the camera's own ILPD lens profile from Files. The profile describes how that individual lens sees the scene, allowing the app to correct the preview for that camera rather than use one generic shape. A built-in calibration is available when a camera-specific profile is not loaded.

On-screen tools can swap the left and right views, flip the image, zoom into the feed, and show connection health and measured end-to-end delay.

Crews Can Connect Directly or Through a Mac

For a compact field setup, URSee says a crew can take the camera's SDI monitor output through a UVC capture device and connect it by USB-C to the Vision Pro Developer Strap. That route does not require a Mac or local network.

Larger productions can use the separate URSee Streamer app for Mac (opens in a new tab). It takes feeds from DeckLink capture hardware, USB-C, or SRT and sends them to Vision Pro headsets over a network or a wired Thunderbolt connection. Each headset can select its own camera, allowing several crew members to monitor different views without sharing one screen.

Spatial Insider has not tested URSee's latency, calibration, or image quality. The workflow and performance descriptions come from the developer's App Store listings and product site.

URSee costs $49.99 and requires visionOS 26. URSee Streamer is a separate $49.99 purchase for Macs running macOS 26. Both apps are available now, creating a live monitoring path from an immersive camera to one or more Vision Pro headsets.
