Siri Gets New Voice Options in visionOS 27 Beta 5
On M5 Apple Vision Pro, you can now adjust how fast Siri speaks and choose from more expressive voices.
visionOS 27 beta 5 (opens in a new tab) is now available to download on Apple Vision Pro as build 24M5348b.
The 13.78 GB update gives Siri a new app icon, a more responsive look, and new voice options on M5 Apple Vision Pro.
Siri has a new app icon
The new icon uses the same silver orb you see when Siri is open, placed inside a white circle in Home View.
The Siri orb looks more alive
Siri looks more responsive when active, with a brighter center and soft blue, pink, and green color moving inside the orb.
When Siri is inactive and pinned to a desk, the orb has a clearer, less frosted glass look. A small amount of color still floats inside.
New voice options on M5 Vision Pro
The new voice controls work in two ways. Pace changes how fast Siri speaks. Expressivity changes how much feeling comes through.
The American voice picker includes seven voices, while the British picker has four. Every voice gets a pace slider and an expressivity slider, letting you make Siri sound slower, faster, calmer, or more animated.
Apple showed these controls on its visionOS 27 preview page and limits them to the M5 Vision Pro.
The software is still in testing. Apple says the finished visionOS 27 update is coming this fall, while Siri AI is coming in English later this year.
My pick
I landed on American voice 6 with both pace and expressivity toward the higher end. Siri sounds quicker, more animated, and honestly awesome without becoming hard to follow.
