OpenAI Teases 20+ Launches at DevDay Today
An always-on AI agent and new model access are reportedly on the way, with Sam Altman’s keynote streaming free at 10 a.m. Pacific.
OpenAI is teasing more than 20 launches (opens in a new tab) for DevDay today, September 29, as developers gather at Fort Mason in San Francisco.
OpenAI’s agenda includes technical sessions, hands-on demos, and workshops with the teams building its tools.
An always-on agent is reportedly coming
An always-on AI agent is among the products expected today, according to Axios (opens in a new tab), citing sources familiar with the plans. The outlet also reports that developers are expected to get access to at least one new model.
The reported agent would put OpenAI in more direct competition with Grok Bot (opens in a new tab) and Meta’s Muse (opens in a new tab). Grok Bot has its own computer and works across apps around the clock. Meta says Muse keeps working after you close the app, handling tasks such as travel bookings and returning when it needs approval.
Spatial creation
OpenAI recently documented how Astra in Codex helped turn a house brief into an editable 3D scene (opens in a new tab) in Blender and a walkthrough in Unreal Engine 5. That progress in creating spatial content is why we’re following DevDay closely, with an eye on tools for building 3D worlds and spatial apps.
