GOLF+ Now Lets You Putt With a Real Club and Ball on Quest

Immersive Putting brings virtual greens into your room, using the speed and direction of a real ball to simulate where your shot would go.

GOLF+ has added Immersive Putting (opens in a new tab), a mixed reality mode that lets Quest 3 and Quest 3S owners hit a real golf ball with their own putter and watch the shot continue across a virtual green.

You still feel the club strike the ball. The headset captures its initial speed and direction, then GOLF+ simulates the rest of the roll, including how the green’s slopes bend its path toward or away from the hole.

Your Putter Becomes the Input

According to GOLF+ (opens in a new tab), the mode needs no launch monitor, PC, or extra tracking hardware. The weighted controller attachments sold for its full-swing VR game are not needed for putting.

That lets you practice with the equipment you actually take onto a course, while software supplies breaks, green speeds, and contours from real courses. GOLF+ also offers drills and putt-putt.

The developer says the mode reports starting direction, pace, and where each putt finishes, with trends across attempts. It recommends a well-lit room, a contrasting surface, and a few feet for the ball to roll. Quest 2 is not supported.

Included With GOLF+ PASS

Immersive Putting requires the GOLF+ game and a GOLF+ PASS subscription (opens in a new tab). The advertised annual offer is $49.99 for the first year, renewing at $99.99 a year. The pass also includes more than 40 VR courses and tournaments.

Players who have never subscribed to PASS can try it free for seven days. Existing subscribers can update GOLF+ and start putting with their own equipment.
