Meta is giving its headsets and AI glasses a dedicated retail space. The company is opening 900-square-foot Meta Labs (opens in a new tab) in more than 50 stores where shoppers can wear AI glasses, try a Quest headset, and get help from a Meta specialist.

Photos from the rollout show glasses displays covering the walls, smart mirrors, fitting areas, and Quest demo stations in the middle.

Try the glasses first

Fit, appearance, and comfort can shape which pair of AI glasses someone chooses. That makes an in-person fitting part of the product demo.

Meta Lab lets people try Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Meta Ray-Ban Display in person. Smart mirrors show different frames and colors, while nearby displays offer ideas for testing Meta AI.

Best Buy says more than half of its customers want to see Meta’s AI glasses before buying them. The specialist and fitting area are built around that need.

Quest needs a demo too

Quest demos serve a different purpose. Shoppers can try games, entertainment, or fitness experiences inside Quest 3 and Quest 3S while a specialist guides them through the headset.

The glasses sit beside those Quest stations. That side-by-side layout brings two kinds of Meta hardware into one shopping experience instead of presenting each product on its own.

Quest centers immersive experiences. AI glasses keep cameras, audio, and Meta AI available during daily life. Meta Lab gives shoppers a direct way to compare those approaches.

One space for both

The in-store setup lets shoppers compare the weight, comfort, view, controls, and uses of each device before buying one.

It does not change the larger questions around price, battery life, privacy, or the reasons someone would keep using the hardware. The rollout also remains limited to select stores for now.

Best Buy says more locations will open through the summer. For Meta, the test is whether guided demos can help more shoppers understand where a headset or pair of AI glasses could fit into their lives.
